PharmaMedDevice™ Partners with BEACON® to Bring Advanced Biomedical Engineering Focus to Premiere Conference Program

Norwalk, CT – To accelerate the pace of innovation in the converging pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device marketplace, the producers of PharmaMedDevice™ Conference and Exhibition have partnered with BEACON® (Biomedical Engineering Alliance & Consortium) to organize the Bioengineering Track at the event’s April 2007 premiere. As a PharmaMedDevice event sponsor and conference co-producer, BEACON brings in-depth perspective to the science and research behind the development of new medical technologies. The partnership creates a bridge to commercialization for the scientific and research community, while rounding out the conference program with biomedical engineering expertise. “We see real opportunity in medical devices that are combined with pharmaceuticals or biologics,” says Joseph Bronzino Ph.D., P.E, Executive Director at BEACON. “As the first event of its kind to address the comprehensive needs of the combination products market, PharmaMedDevice provides the ideal delivery platform for our biomedical engineering community.”

With sessions on such cutting-edge topics as bionanotechnology, molecular and infrared imaging, personalized medicine, virtual instrumentation, and vascular tissue engineering, BEACON’s Bioengineering Track will help conference attendees realize new generations of innovative medical devices that incorporate a pharmaceutical or biologic component.

Like the organization’s mission, these sessions are designed to foster collaborative efforts and industrial partnering to enable development and delivery of commercially viable innovations in biomedical science and engineering

“BEACON’s bioscience and biomedical engineering expertise complements and balances product development and regulatory conference programming provided by FDC Reports at PharmaMedDevice,” says Christina Giuliano, Conference Manager at PharmaMedDevice. “Together, BEACON, FDC Reports and PharmaMedDevice provide medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies with a complete toolkit for speeding new convergent technologies from concept to commercialization.

We are pleased to have partnered with such a pivotal industry support leader as BEACON, and we are excited about the caliber of conference sessions that we will be able to offer in April.”
